Pirelli has revealed the tyre selections for the Italian Grand Prix, with Red Bull and Ferrari opting for a slightly different allocation as they resume the battle for second position.
Red Bull climbed above Ferrari into second in the championship after the German Grand Prix and will be looking to keep up the fight with the Italian team at its home race. Like Mercedes, both Ferrari drivers are taking seven sets of super-soft tyres to Monza, one more than Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.
Both Mercedes and Ferrari drivers have gone for a different amount of medium and soft compounds, but this will only be so the teams can split run plans during Friday practice. Haas' selection stands out as the most extreme with nine sets of the super-soft compound, with everyone else but Force India's Nico Hulkenberg opting for six or seven sets of the red-striped tyre.
The Italian Grand Prix takes place on September 4, after the season resumes at the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend following a four-week summer break.
