Lewis Hamilton has played down the significance of the issue which cut his second practice session short ahead of this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.
The three-time world champion had been quickest early on in FP2 on the super-soft tyre, but endured a difficult end to the session, finishing seventh quickest. After being unable to post a representative time on what should have been his qualifying simulation on the ultra-soft compound, a hydraulic leak forced Hamilton to miss the final part of second practice.
Hamilton revealed after the session the problem had been fixed by Mercedes.
"They fixed it, it was a small thing," Hamilton said.
The Briton, who won in Singapore in 2009 and 2014, added he feels the hydraulic leak was not related to complaints he made during FP1 about overheating in his W07 -- an issue he says has also been resolved.
"I believe so, yeah. It wasn't a problem later on in the session."
When asked if he is concerned about missing out on being able to complete a long run in the latter part of the night session, which is more illustrative of conditions seen in the race, Hamilton replied: "Not really, it's just another Friday. Fortunately there's two cars so as long as one car gets all the information then that's all that's really needed."
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff admits the issue is not ideal preparation for Hamilton heading into the rest of the weekend.
Speaking directly after second practice, Wolff said: "We couldn't fix it to send him out again at the end of the session. It should be alright for tomorrow but of course it affects him."
