Pirelli has released the tyre allocations for the Malaysian Grand Prix, with little variation across the grid and Mercedes and Ferrari opting for identical strategies.
After several races at the softest end of its range, Pirelli shifts to the other end for Sepang, bringing the hard, medium and soft tyres. As a result selections look very similar for all the teams.
Mercedes have gone for seven soft tyres for either driver, who will once again split duties between the other two compounds. Championship leader Nico Rosberg has just two hard tyres and four mediums, while Lewis Hamilton has three of each, meaning Mercedes will look to optimise the running on both tyres during the practice sessions.
Ferrari has a similar selection to Mercedes, with Sebastian Vettel on the same strategy as Rosberg and Kimi Raikkonen on the same as Hamilton. Toro Rosso is the only team to have selected eight sets of super-soft tyres, while Renault's Jolyon Palmer stands out as the only driver with four of the orange-striped hard compound for the weekend.
