Pirelli has revealed the tyre allocations for the U.S. Grand Prix, which sees Ferrari opt for much more aggressive selection than Mercedes or Red Bull.

After two races with the hardest tyres in Pirelli's range, the tyre manufacturer is bringing medium, soft and super-soft compounds to the Circuit of the Americas. Ferrari has decided to bring just one medium tyre for Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, who have five sets of softs and seven super-softs.

By contrast, Red Bull have four of the hardest compound in the weekend's range, and three softs and six super-softs. Mercedes have split tyre choices between Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, who have two and three medium tyres and five and four tyres respectively. That means the teammates and championship rivals will split their run plans during Friday practice to maximise the data available to the world champions.

Away from the front, the other two teams with 2016 Ferrari engines have also gone aggressive -- Sauber has identical selections, while Haas has picked seven soft tyres and split copied Mercedes' tactic and split the medium and soft tyre selections between Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutierrez.
