ESPN rounds up F1's weird and wonderful radio messages from the Japanese Grand Prix, including another excellent set of blue flag complaints from Sebastian Vettel.
"Oh, the annoying octopus is back! It's been a while."
"It's quite a small one. It's a baby octopus."
One of the more bizarre radio messages of the season from Daniil Kvyat in FP1. The Toro Rosso driver later revealed he was referring to a small piece of tyre rubber wrapped around the antenna -- which looked like an eight-legged sea creature when driving at high-speed.
"Mate, the brake doesn't brake!"
Romain Grosjean vents his frustration during practice as he continues to struggle with his Haas.
"Sorry guys..."
"No stress Lewis."
Lewis Hamilton apologises to Mercedes for his botched start at the Japanese Grand Prix, with race engineer Peter Bonnington trying to refocus the world champion.
"See ya later!"
Nico Hulkenberg says goodbye to Valtteri Bottas after dispatching the Williams drive around the outside of the final chicane early in the race.
"OK Fernando, we need to push now, push..."
"Yeah, yeah, I wish! With which tyres do we push now?"
Fernando Alonso is unimpressed at being told he needs to up the pace, asking McLaren why they assume he can push with his current tyres.
"Honestly it's ridiculous, it's ridiculous. Lost a second -- for nothing! [censored]"
"Pity sake, make him go! What do you want to know, tight track, difficult to pass, lose behind another car. It's ridiculous!"
"Blue flags! I mean it can't be true can it!"
Sebastian Vettel has been compiling an album of blue flag complaints all season and he was in top form again during the race in Suzuka -- "pity sake" being our personal favourite from 2016 so far.
"Max moved under braking..."
We've heard this before... Lewis Hamilton tells Mercedes about Max Verstappen's aggressive defence, which forced him to bail out across the final chicane. He would later speak out against Mercedes' decision to protest Verstappen's driving.
