ESPN rounds up the best soundbites from the U.S. Grand Prix, where FOM's bleeper was working overtime for 56 laps in Austin.
"Can they push me?"
"Just turn the car off I think mate, sorry."
The beginning of Pascal Wehrlein's exchange with his race engineer Josh Peckett in FP3 after beaching his Manor in the gravel at Turn 19...
"Wait another 10 seconds. I think they are coming."
"Pascal, we need to turn the car off, please, turn the car off... For temperature. Turn off please, turn off."
"Yeah, one second they are coming."
Wehrlein continues to ignore the instruction to turn off the engine in the hope his car is about to be rescued from the gravel trap -- an optimistic view, given how far his car has spun into the kitty litter.
"They are not going to push you out Pascal, turn the car off please...OK, Pascal, car off. Car off, now!"
Peckett gets sick of repeating himself, rounding off this exchange with a very tetchy message to the German rookie which was eventually obeyed.
"I think I have another puncture..."
"Yes, rear left..."
"What the f---!"

"Ok, we're going for the long game now, Nico... So push hard"
"Pushing hard is not the long game!"

"I got hit very bad from behind. What an idiot, man. What a [censored] idiot!"
Sergio Perez vents his anger after being spun around on the first lap by Daniil Kvyat's very optimistic lunge at Turn 11.

"I'm not here to finish fourth..."
Max Verstappen lets his racing instincts get the better of him after being told to cool his pace while charging up behind Rosberg's Mercedes.
"OK Jolyon, you're a lot faster than Kevin at the moment..."
"Yeah, I've known this the whole race!"
Jolyon Palmer, sick of the sight of teammate Kevin Magnussen's gearbox, is even sicker to hear the team tell him he's the quicker Renault. He would later complain that the team did not implement team orders to let him by.
"So he got a free pitstop basically... That's so [censored] perfect."
Daniel Ricciardo curses his luck after the Virtual Safety Car -- triggered by the odd parking of teammate Verstappen -- gives Rosberg a reprieve in the battle for second...
"Keep me posted on Rosberg's times. I'd love to catch that [censored]"
...But the Australian can't shake the thought of catching Rosberg, using some colourful language to describe the championship leader late in the race.
"Yeeehaw!"

"Get in there mate! What a drive, really well managed. Awesome result Lewis. Good job, boy"
