Each Monday throughout the fantasy basketball season, we will take a closer look at the players who are over-owned (rostered in at least 70 percent of ESPN leagues) and under-owned (rostered in under 30 percent of ESPN leagues).
Here's a look at the players who stand out this week, with their ownership percentage listed.
Over-owned
Tim Duncan, PF/C, San Antonio Spurs (87.8)
At 39 years old, this is the season where Duncan finally has fallen off on the offensive end of the court. He has career lows in minutes (26.2), points (8.7) and rebounds (7.9) and now has had a game without a rebound and one without a point. Though still a solid contributor in terms of blocks (1.4 BPG) and steals (0.8 SPG), the Big Fundamental is spending less time on the court than ever and is trying to overcome a bothersome right knee. If you have him, make sure you check his status leading up to tipoff of every Spurs game.
D'Angelo Russell, PG/SG, Los Angeles Lakers (69.2)
OK, we cheated a bit here, as Russell isn't quite owned in 70 percent of ESPN leagues, but it's close enough. Consistency continues to be a big bugaboo for the No. 2 pick of the 2015 draft, particularly in terms of shooting the basketball. He is 5-for-22 from the field over the past two games and hasn't been able to string together two good games in a row over the past 10 days. Though still a good option to hold on to in keeper leagues, Russell is a player who hurts you in field goal percentage and turnovers this season.
Under-owned
P.J. Tucker, SF, Phoenix Suns (29.7)
Tucker doesn't have a high usage rate (10.9) and doesn't take a lot of shots (5.7 FGA per game), but he contributes steals, rebounds and 3-pointers while playing 33 minutes a game since Eric Bledsoe went down with a season-ending knee injury. He's nothing more than a streaming option this week, when the Suns play just two games, but Tucker is worth considering in the following weeks as long as he plays more than 30 minutes a night.
Clint Capela, PF/C, Houston Rockets (27.7)
Capela has averaged 28.2 minutes over the past five games, averaging 7.6 points, 7 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 0.8 steals and 1.4 assists during that span. Right now, he's a similar player to Festus Ezeli but is playing more minutes than Golden State's backup big man, who has been injured and out of the lineup recently. Though Capela shoots only 44.4 percent from the foul line, he takes only 2.6 free throws a game, minimizing the damage. Don't let his shaky free throw shooting scare you away.
Larry Nance Jr., PF, Los Angeles Lakers (8.6)
The rookie second-rounder has surpassed 2014 lottery pick Julius Randle in the Lakers' starting lineup and is a favorite of coach Byron Scott's. He's an efficient scorer (shooting 54.8 percent on the season) and a bouncy athlete with a knack for rebounding; he pulled down 14 boards in each of the past two games. He also is a better defensive option than Randle and is being rewarded with more minutes as well, leading to two double-doubles in the past five games. Nance shouldn't be overlooked any longer.
