Hamburg attacker Pierre-Michel Lasogga has increased speculation of a move to the Premier League, calling a switch to England his 'dream.'
The 22-year-old Lasogga was one of the main reasons that Hamburger SV will enjoy another year of Bundesliga football. His 13 goals for die Rothosen were crucial as the club maintained their first league status with the worst record in its history.
Lasogga joined Hamburg on loan from Hertha Berlin and is set to return to the German capital in the summer. He is still under contract until 2015, but has so far been reluctant to sign a new deal at the club.
"Since I started to play football, my dream has been to play in Premier League," the hulking attacker told reporters on Monday.
"We will get together for talks in the next few days," Hertha sporting director Michael Preetz told Berliner Morgenpost about the contract situation. "We have positioned ourselves. Now we need to know how Pierre sees it."
While Hertha BSC hope to convince Lasogga to put pen to paper on a new contract, rumours of a possible switch to the Premier League have been reignited by the attacker's statement on Monday.
According to Morgenpost, several Premier League clubs have approached Lasogga. Newcastle United, Everton, Tottenham and Liverpool are among the clubs chasing the attacker's signature, the paper reports.
"We have received no enquiries, let alone an offer for Lasogga," Preetz denied.
