Jeremy Menez has arrived in Italy to undergo a medical and sign for AC Milan, saying he was confident he had more to offer Serie A now than in a previous spell with Roma.

The France international is moving to the Rossoneri on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, following the same path as Brazilian defender Alex, who signed for the Italian club last week.

Menez and Alex arrive as new coach Filippo Inzaghi looks to rebuild the Milan squad in the wake of the club's most disappointing season in decades.

And winger Menez, 27, told reporters: "I've matured a lot since my time in Rome, and I want to prove this to you on the field. You'll see.

"I'm delighted to be here. I'm desperate to win things, like I did with PSG. Milan are a great club."

Menez played 84 Serie A matches during his three seasons in Rome, scoring seven goals. His inconsistent form for PSG last season, when he was used just 26 times in all competitions by coach Laurent Blanc, meant he missed out on a place in the France squad for Brazil.
