Germany youth international Hany Mukhtar has joined Benfica from Hertha Berlin.
Mukhtar, 19, was under contract at Hertha until 2015, but was not interested in staying at his hometown club beyond the summer and has made the move for 500,000 euros.

Despite a successful summer that saw the midfielder score the goal that secured European Under-19 Championship glory for Germany in the final against Portugal, Mukhtar failed to make an appearance this season Hertha, who had also denied him a transfer to second-tier club RB Leipzig.
"It's difficult to play young players like Hany when the structure is missing," Hertha coach Jos Luhukay said earlier this season when asked about his lack of first-team chances. "It's not only about him but also about the overall situation."
