LIVERPOOL -- Roberto Martinez is considering a permanent summer move for Aaron Lennon after playing down concerns that Everton could be priced out of a move for the winger.
Lennon joined the Toffees on loan from Tottenham in February in a deal that runs out at the end of the season.
Multiple reports on Tuesday suggested that Spurs wanted £9 million to sell Lennon, and that Everton would be unable to afford him.
But Martinez, whose side host relegation-threatened Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday, insists that there have been no discussions over a fee.
He said: "The reality is that I don't know where those figures have come from. We haven't had any sort of conversations with Spurs."
Saturday's match will be Lennon's final home appearance of the season for Everton.
The 28-year-old will be available for the trip to West Ham on May 16 but cannot play in the final match of the season at home to Spurs eight days later, as Premier League rules prevent a loanee from facing his parent club.
Martinez said: "It's a very significant game at the weekend for Aaron Lennon and for us as a club. It's the last home game for which he's going to be available.
"He's had a phenomenal impact on our team and I think it's going to be a really good celebration between our fans and Aaron.
"Whatever happens in the future, it needs to be something the player is happy with, and then we'll sit down and see what the situation is.
"But that conversation hasn't taken place. I don't get where the reports are coming from."
Martinez is looking to sign a winger this summer, with Lennon his first choice, although Manchester United's Adnan Januzaj has also been considered.
The manager plans to speak to Lennon about his future at the end of the season, saying: "We'll see first of all where Aaron wants to be, and what his thoughts are.
"We're delighted with him, and he's got different ideas. I think when you get a loan player, all you want is for him to fit in really well straight away.
"We all tried to help him to do that. His football and his performances have reflected that. I think he's enjoyed it.
"But I think that it's now important that he has the freedom of the next two games to carry on with the levels that he has. Then whatever happens in the summer, I'm sure he'll be welcome."
Lennon is set to feature against Sunderland as Everton seek to put the disappointment of last Saturday's 3-2 Premier League defeat at Aston Villa behind them.
Defender Luke Garbutt is available after recovering from tonsillitis, but midfielder Steven Pienaar remains unavailable because of muscle fatigue.
Sunderland, led by former Holland, Belgium and Russia coach Dick Advocaat, are in the relegation zone despite picking up seven points from their last four matches.
They beat Europa League contenders Southampton last Saturday, though, and Martinez is wary of the threat they will pose.
He said: "The experience of Dick Advocaat in those situations has taken the pressure out of the players. That's allowing them to play -- so they'll be very tough opposition.
"Their mindset is right now. We faced Aston Villa last week, who are in a very similar position; a team who feel very confident, and face every game with a real belief that they can win the three points.
"I expect Sunderland to show the same approach on Saturday."
