          Bayern Munich announce deal to sign Stuttgart keeper Sven Ulreich

          Bayern Munich have announced the signing of Stuttgart goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.

          Ulreich, 26, has agreed a three-year deal at the Allianz Arena.

          Bayern executive board member Jan-Christian Dreesen told the club's official website: "We are very pleased that we were able to sign an experienced Bundesliga goalkeeper in Sven Ulreich.

          "Sven fits Bayern perfectly, not only in sporting terms but also in his character. We are very happy that he has chosen us."

          Ulreich said: "After many years at Stuttgart, I was looking for a new challenge and I am at the right place to find that at Bayern."

          He also recognised that first-team chances may be hard to come by, adding: "I want to be there when I am needed and contribute to the club's success."

          Ulreich came through the youth ranks at Stuttgart and had made 220 Bundesliga appearances for the club since 2008.

          Bild reports that the transfer fee is around €3 million.

          Stuttgart board member Robin Dutt said on the club's Twitter account: "With Sven we lose an individual with a high VfB identification. However, we fullfil his request for a new sporting challenge.

          "We wish him success and personally all the best for his ongoing career!"

          Ulreich is set to serve as backup to Manuel Neuer as former Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina seeks a return to Napoli.

          Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had confirmed that Bayern would sign a replacement for Reina last week, telling Sport Bild: "Pepe Reina asked us for a transfer. He wants to play. He probably hoped to cope with his reserve-keeper role better than he did. I'd like to think that he will return to Napoli."

          Ulreich played only 28 of Stuttgart's Bundesliga games last season, with Thorsten Kirschbaum selected ahead of him in on six occasions.

          However, Kirschbaum has also announced that he wants to leave Stuttgart this summer, and Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports that Przemyslaw Tyton is set to join from PSV Eindhoven.

          The 28-year-old Poland international Tyton, who spent last season on loan at Elche, is reported to have been available for less than €1 million as a result of a release clause in his contract.
