Top Story: Aubameyang drops strong transfer hint
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has given the strongest suggestion yet that he is set for a blockbuster move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer. The Manchester United target notified his Gabon manager Jorge Costa that he would not be joining up for the Mauritania match because he is set for finalise a transfer, according to the Daily Star.
The 26-year-old was superb for Thomas Tuchel's side this season, grabbing 36 goals in 45 games, which has led to him being linked with a £70 million move to the Red Devils though Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Arsenal are also keen.
Said Costa: "Aubameyang asked me not to be selected because he is in the process of changing clubs."
The mystery club has not been disclosed yet but news of his future should be revealed in the next few weeks, and should a move transpire, it promises to be among the very biggest of the summer.
PSG to steal Lukaku from Chelsea?
Paris Saint-Germain will make a late move to take Romelu Lukaku from under Chelsea's noses with a £60m move for the Everton striker. The Ligue 1 champions need to fill a huge hole in the shape of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will depart on a free transfer, and the Belgium striker appears to be the ideal candidate for Laurent Blanc's men.
Lukaku has been a sensation since leaving Chelsea for the Toffees and has scored 61 goals in 121 games since his permanent transfer in the summer of 2014. Given that Everton are without European football and set to rebuild once again this summer, the 23-year-old is seemingly desperate to test himself at a higher level. The Express say PSG are the only threat to the Blues for Lukaku, despite Bayern and Manchester United known to be interested too.
After failing to break through at Stamford Bridge initially, a second chance at the club, under new manager Antonio Conte, seems to appeal to Lukaku even though Chelsea are also unable to offer European football.
Sevilla rebuff champions Leicester for former Potter
Europa League champions Sevilla have rejected Leicester's massive £18m bid for Steven N'Zonzi though the Foxes probably will return in a bid to bring the former Stoke City midfielder back to the Premier League.
The Andalusians are adamant that N'Zonzi will not leave the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan for less than the £21m buy-out though the Frenchman is reportedly keen to return to England after a successful campaign in La Liga.
The Mirror report that Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool also want N'Zonzi, but Claudio Ranieri wants the player just in case star midfielder N'Golo Kante departs the King Power Stadium this summer. Kante, a bargain buy from Caen last summer, is rumoured to have a £20m buy-out clause, which means the champions will be powerless to stop the French international leaving this summer.
West Ham make offer for PSG star
There has been plenty of talk emanating from West Ham this summer about £25-30m bids for top strikers but one of the Hammers' most impressive signings this summer could be on a free: Get French Football News are reporting that the Hammers have made an offer for PSG right-back Gregory Van der Wiel.
The Dutch international fell out of favour with the Parisiens and will now depart on a free with the report stating that Roma and Monaco have also made official offers for the 28-year-old. James Tomkins often played out of position at right-back for the Hammers last season and Slaven Bilic evidently feels that Sam Byram is still too inexperienced and Michail Antonio is more comfortable further forward.
Tap-ins
- Roma will pay £10m to make Stephan El Shaarawy's loan move permanent, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, with Luciano Spalletti keen to continue working with Il Faraone after his renaissance since January.
El Shaarawy lost his way after bursting on to the scene a couple of years back with Milan and Monaco opted against buying the player, but the 23-year-old will now leave the Rossoneri on a permanent basis and look to build on his eight goals in 16 appearances last season for Roma.
- Atletico Madrid have joined the race for highly-rated Sassuolo full-back Sime Vrsaljko and Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that the Spanish giants have met with the Croatia international's agent in Milan.
Napoli have already struck a deal with the Neroverdi but still need to agree personal terms with the 22-year-old, which has given Atleti hope they can win the race for Vrsaljko's signature.
