Man in bush in Reading becomes unlikely hero of deadline day

While a Reading fan he may well be, Jacob South Klein is certainly not your average Royals supporter.

Indeed, while other followers of the Berkshire club are happy to spend transfer deadline day scouring the internet for news of movement, Jacob decided to take an altogether more covert approach.

And so, for the last few years, he has been staging a deadline day 'Bushwatch' which quite literally involves hiding in the bushes outside the Madejski Stadium and reporting on the players making their way in and out.

Having already become something of a local celebrity, Jacob enjoyed a bumper outing on Tuesday, with Reading making no less than three signings before the window closed on Jan. 31.

Of course, Bushwatch was on hand to capture it all unfold, and became an unlikely star of of deadline day in the process.

First up was Reece Oxford through the door, before Jordon Mutch turned up to complete his loan move from Crystal Palace.

Several hours passed, snacks and supplies were delivered by adoring fans, toilet breaks were mandated and then, just before the window was due to close, Bushwatch spotted Lewis Grabban leaving the Madejski after securing a move from Bournemouth.

Who could blame him for being tuckered out after a day like that?

Reading Football Club truly have themselves a new hero, and he wears a small brown hat.
