Sevilla left-back Benoit Tremoulinas has described Unai Emery as a "living god" who has what it takes to succeed as manager of Paris Saint-Germain.
Several French and Spanish media outlets reported on Tuesday that the French champions' president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has decided to part company with current manager Laurent Blanc and the club are already in advanced negotiations with Emery, 44.
And Tremoulinas, 30, thinks that Emery is a "clever tactician" who would be well able to manage a club with PSG's ambition.
But the France international, who has also been linked with a move to Paris, added that it would be tough to see the Spaniard leave Sevilla.
"I think the whole of Sevilla would be disappointed," Tremoulinas told RMC. "He's a coach who has won the Europa League three times in a row.
"In the league he's led the club to fifth place twice and then to seventh place. It's like with (sporting director) Monchi -- he's a living god."
Tremoulinas worked under Blanc at Bordeaux early in his career and they won Ligue 1 together in 2009.
After spells with Dynamo Kiev and Saint-Etienne, Emery brought him to Spain in August 2014, and Tremoulinas says the Spaniard takes a more hands-on approach than Blanc.
"I won things with both of them, but I can't say that one is stronger than the other," Tremoulinas said. "But they're two different managers.
"Blanc manages more with his assistant Jean-Louis Gasset, who directs the training sessions. Emery is 100 percent present during training. He handles everything."
Meanwhile, former Paris Saint-Germain winger Jerome Rothen thinks it would make sense for the French champions to replace Blanc with Emery.
"You shouldn't criticise Laurent Blanc too much in terms of the playing philosophy he's brought to PSG," Rothen told RMC. "For three years it was very good, but if they want to move up a level maybe a firm-handed manager like Unai Emery would be a good choice."
