We've witnessed some frighteningly quick footballers over the years but a ridiculously strong contender for the fastest player ever has emerged, and he hails from the Indonesian top flight.
The man in question is Borneo FC Samarinda forward Terens Puhiri, who has become something of a viral sensation after footage of his bewildering pace was shared on social media this week.
Puhiri scored his side's third goal in Borneo FC's 4-0 win over Mitra Kukar on Monday and the sheer speed of the counterattack that preceded it has been rendering people agog.

After using his incredible pace to sprint the length of the pitch, Puhiri beat a defender to a loose ball, skipped past the onrushing goalkeeper and tucked a shot into the empty net.
The fastest ever player in the Premier League is Leroy Sane after the Man City winger was clocked sprinting at 35.48 kilometres an hour (22.05 mph) this season -- the all-time league record.
We'll perhaps never know if Puhiri's break was faster but it's certainly a close-run thing, if you'll excuse the pun.
