ROME -- Roma and Italy forward Stephan El Shaarawy has escaped unhurt from a car crash in which his vehicle was badly damaged.
Italian media reports say the incident happened as El Shaarawy was driving home from Roma's training ground on Sunday after the team returned to the capital following a 3-1 defeat at Torino.
El Shaarawy, driving an Audi, was involved in a crash with a yellow Fiat Panda and the driver of the other car was taken to hospital with minor injuries, reports said.
Both cars were severely damaged but the 23-year-old El Shaarawy was not hospitalized.
