Leonardo Pavoletti set to leave Genoa amid Napoli link - coach Juric

Genoa coach Ivan Juric has confirmed that Leonardo Pavoletti will leave the club, with Napoli the most likely destination.

At the end of the match against Fiorentina, reprised on Thursday after the original game in September had to be called off after 28 minutes due to a severe hailstorm, Juric told the media of Pavoletti's fate.

"I think Pavoletti has already decided he is leaving," he said. "We wish him all the best and hope that whoever replaces him will be equally good.

"We do have [Giovanni] Simeone, who is growing and improving every single day."

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi added: "The club will do what the club needs -- but we are happy if Pavoletti can find a club with whom his career can improve, whether that is in January or in June."

Napoli are widely reported to have had an €18 million bid accepted, with the striker earning €1.9m until 2021.

Medicals are expected to take place as soon as the player has fully recovered from the muscular issues that have kept him off the pitch in the past few weeks.
