Leicester's Riyad Mahrez training hard despite Roma interest - Wes Morgan

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has kept a "great" attitude in spite of constant links of a move away to Roma, says Foxes captain Wes Morgan.

Mahrez last week told Sky Sports he wants to open discussions with the Serie A club about a possible transfer, but is unable to do so until Leicester accept an offer for him.

The 26-year-old, who is reportedly valued at £50 million, asked for a transfer at the end of last season, and with the window closing at the end of the month time is running out for him to secure a move.

However, despite his teammate finding himself in a frustrating position, Morgan says the Algeria international has handled the ordeal professionally ahead of Leicester's Premier League opener at Arsenal on Friday.

"It's to be expected that big clubs will be after our biggest name players," Morgan told Sky Sports. "But at the end of the day he is still with us.

"He is a still a Leicester player and that's all that matters. We can't think about what could happen or where he might go.

"At the training ground we all train together and I have to say is his attitude has been great. He hasn't shown that he is angry or that he is upset in any way or that his head is not in it. He comes in and he trains hard.

"We expect players to come and players to go. [N'Golo] Kante went [to Chelsea] and there were no hard feelings there. We'd all love Riyad to stay, but who knows what will happen."
