HOUSTON -- Mexico will be without Guillermo Ochoa, Hirving Lozano and Erick Gutierrez for Tuesday's friendly against the United States in Nashville, the Mexican federation confirmed on Saturday.
All three players started in Mexico's 4-1 loss to Uruguay on Saturday, with Lozano and Gutierrez taking an early flight to Mexico City from Houston.
Lozano and Ochoa, both key players for Mexico at the World Cup last summer, will return to their clubs, while Gutierrez has to arrange a work visa following his move to PSV Eindhoven from Liga MX side Pachuca on Aug. 30, said the sources.
Mexico travels to Nashville on Saturday with a group of 21 players, of which only two -- Raul Jimenez (Wolves) and Oswaldo Alanis (Real Oviedo) -- play in Europe.
El Tri coach Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti confirmed after Friday's game that his starting XI to face the United States would be substantially different than the one that played against Uruguay.
