Argentine club Independiente announced the signing of midfielder Cecilio Dominguez from Liga MX side Club America on Thursday.
The Paraguay international had arrived to Liga MX two years ago, and won the Apertura 2018 title with the Mexico City club. He had seen limited action so far this Clausura 2019 season for Miguel Herrera's side.

Dominguez, who becomes Independiente's most expensive signing in its history, is expected to be presented by his new side on Friday. Independiente stated they would pay $6 million for a 75 ownership stake in Dominguez, with the length of the deal at four-and-a-half years.
In his tenure at America, Dominguez played 58 games and scored 13 goals. He had previously played for Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno, and has 11 caps with his national team.
