An enthralling weekend of football action came to an end with Real Madrid putting it past Barcelona in the El Clasico and Manchester United surviving a scare against Coventry City in the FA Cup.

Real Madrid rode on a stoppage-time Jude Bellingham goal to beat Barca 3-2 and open up a 11-point lead in LaLiga, while Bayer Leverkusen continued their unbeaten season by earning a last-gasp draw with Borussia Dortmund. Over in England, Arsenal and Liverpool bounced back to winning ways and are locked on 74 points each but Arsenal have the edge owing to a superior goal difference.

Inter Milan continue to stay atop the Serie A standings, while the FA Cup final will see a repeat of last year's: Manchester City vs Manchester United.

ESPN's By The Numbers has the best stats from the weekend:

Europa League

For the first time since the 2014-15 season, there will be no Premier League clubs in the Semifinals of either the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League.

Bayer Leverkusen's 44-game unbeaten streak in all competitions goes past Juventus' record (43 from 2011-12) for the longest unbeaten streak by a club in Europe's top 5 leagues across competitions.

FA Cup

139 years

For the first time since 1884 and 1885 (Blackburn Rovers and Queen's Park), the same teams have made the FA Cup final in consecutive seasons (Man United and Man City)

29 and 11

Manchester City's 29-game unbeaten run in all competitions (23-6-0 W-D-L) breaks a tie for the club's longest ever unbeaten run [November 2020 to March 2021 and April-Dec. 2017). Manchester City is also the first team to win 11 straight FA Cup matches since Chelsea won 13 in a row from 2009 to 2011.

10+ years

Manchester United have not lost a game after being up by three goals since May 19, 2013, when the team played to a 5-5 draw against West Brom in Sir Alex Ferguson's final game for United as a manager (Romelu Lukaku scored a hat trick for West Brom off the bench that game).

Premier League

Cole Palmer is up to 22 goals in all competitions this season, already the most by a Chelsea player in a single season since Diego Costa scored 22 in 2016-17. With Fernando Torres also scoring exactly 22 goals in 2012-13, Chelsea hasn't had a player score more than 22 goals in a single season in all competitions since Didier Drogba scored 37 in 2009-10.

Brentford's five goals over Luton Town are tied for the club's most in a PL game. The 5-1 scoreline gave Brentford its joint-largest win in the Premier League (4-0 vs Man United on August 13, 2022).

Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored six direct free-kick goals in the Premier League; only Jamie Redknapp (8) and Steven Gerrard (7) have more for Liverpool.

Sheffield are the first club in PL history to concede 50 home goals in a single season.

Palmer is up to 38 goal contributions this season in all competitions, most by any player for a Premier League club and trailing only Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.

Jude Bellingham is the first player in LaLiga history to score multiple game-winning goals against Barcelona in the 90th minute or later, regardless of team affiliation.

It's the second time in the 2024 calendar year that Barcelona have lost back-to-back games in which they held a lead (across competitions). Between 2016-2023, this did not happen to Barcelona once.

Real Madrid finish the season with a 3-0-0 record in El Clasico contests in all competitions. This season is the 33rd time Real Madrid and Barcelona met more than twice in a season, and it's the first time since 1935-36 that Madrid have won every meeting in a campaign.

Girona has scored 4+ goals in 8 games this season, tied for the 2nd-most in a single LaLiga season among teams to have never won the title. This 2023-24 Girona team is the first non-former LALIGA champion to score at least 4 goals in 8 different games since Espanyol did it in 8 games in 1950-51.

Iago Aspas scored his 106th and 107th career LALIGA goals after turning 30 years old. In doing so, he passed Cristiano Ronaldo for the 6th-most LALIGA goals after turning 30. He is 2 away from passing Luis Suárez.

Harry Kane has 33 Bundesliga goals this season and would be the first Englishman to score at least 35 goals in a single season in one of Europe's top 5 leagues since Jimmy Greaves scored exactly 35 for Tottenham in the English top flight in 1963-64. The last British player to accomplish this feat was Ron Davies, who scored 37 for Southampton in 1966-67 in the English top flight.

Thomas Müller has scored in Matchday 30 for the first time in his Bundesliga career (148th Bundesliga goal). Entering Saturday, Müller had gone 0-for-14 (786 minutes) in terms of scoring on the 30th matchday of the season.

Bayer Leverkusen have six game-tying goals at the 85th minute or later, the most in all competitions among teams from Europe's top 5 leagues (including Sunday's game vs Dortmund).

Messi-Ronaldo watch

Lionel Messi recorded his fifth multi-goal game for Inter Miami as he struck twice in their win over Nashville. He's now just 10 goals shy of becoming Inter Miami's all-time top scorer.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo did not feature in Al Nassr's 3-1 win over Al Feiha in the Saudi Pro League.
