Western Sydney Wanderers sack Carl Robinson

Carl Robinson has been dismissed as Western Sydney Wanderers' A-League Men (ALM) head coach, the club announced on Sunday.

The Wanderers dropped to 11th in the 12-team ALM on Saturday after a demoralising 3-0 loss against Brisbane Roar.

"Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the departure of Isuzu UTE A-League head coach Carl Robinson effective immediately," the club said in a statement.

"The Wanderers would like to thank Carl for his time at the club over the last one and half seasons and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

"The club will shortly make an announcement regarding the head coach position for the rest of the season."

Nikola Mileusnic scored a brace and Rahmat Akbari was also on target as the Roar climbed to eighth, with the result ultimately leaving Robinson's position at the title-aspiring Wanderers untenable.
