Puneri Paltan, who lost in the eliminator stage in season 8, will begin their Pro Kabaddi League season 9 (PKL 9) campaign against Patna Pirates on October 8 at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru.

Puneri Paltan's raiding department remains its strong suit as the brilliant raiding duo of Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat - who scored 169 and 159 points, respectively last season - remain with the side. Puneri Paltan added firepower to its defence as well by signing up Iranian stars Fazel Atrachali and Mohammad Nabibakhsh at the player auctions.

In Atrachali and Nabibakhsh, the Paltan have added players with know-how and experience of dealing with tough situations. That will be crucial to complement the exuberance of their brilliant young raiders in Aslam and Mohit, as they look to win their first PKL title.
