Bellator MMA has announced a live event on Nov. 3 at Penn State University that will feature former Nittany Lions wrestlers Phil Davis and Ed Ruth.
The promotion confirmed the event to Penn Live. A light heavyweight title fight between Ryan Bader and Linton Vassell will headline. It will take place inside Bryce Jordan Center.
Davis, 32, won an NCAA national championship for PSU, in 2008. Ruth, 26, accomplished that feat three times during his collegiate career, which ended in 2014.
A former Bellator champ, Davis (17-4) lost the 205-pound title to Bader in June. Ruth (3-0) is a strong middleweight prospect. Bellator has not yet announced their respective opponents.
Bader (23-5), who signed with Bellator earlier this year following a long run in the UFC, has won three in a row. He is also a former collegiate wrestler, from Arizona State University.
Vassell (18-5), from England, is coming off an impressive submission victory over Liam McGeary in May.
