Sources: UFC close to finalizing Donald Cerrone-Yancy Medeiros bout for Fight Night card

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros are close to finalizing a welterweight match that will headline UFC Fight Night: Austin on Feb. 18, sources confirmed to ESPN.

The bout, featuring two of the most exciting fighters in the organization, was first reported by MMAFighting.com.

Cerrone (32-10-1) is coming off three consecutive losses, the most recent a first-round TKO defeat to rising contender Darren Till in October. Medeiros (15-4), meanwhile, has seen his stock rise in recent months. The Hawaii native has won three straight, including a third-round TKO against Alex Oliveira at UFC 218 on Dec. 2. Some consider the back-and-forth fight to be the year's best.

Cerrone vs. Medeiros is the fifth matchup announced on a card boasting a multitude of top contenders. Derrick Lewis (18-5) will take on Marcin Tybura (16-3) in a battle of heavyweights. Ray Borg (11-3), coming off a loss to flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, faces Brandon Moreno (14-4). The final two matchups include Tonya Evinger (19-6) vs. Marion Reneau (8-3-1) and Sage Northcutt (9-2) vs. Thibault Gouti (12-3).
