The main event for the UFC's return to Sao Paulo, Brazil, has taken a hit.
Glover Teixeira (27-7) was forced to withdraw from his UFC Fight Night bout against Jimi Manuwa due to a shoulder injury, sources told ESPN. There is fear that he'll need surgery, however a final decision has yet to be made, the sources said.
The injury is one he's been dealing with since his loss to Jon Jones in 2014, sources said.
The promotion is currently seeking a replacement to fight Manuwa (17-4), who has lost two fights in a row.
The event is scheduled for Sept. 22 at the Ginasio de Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
