Sources: UFC finalizing Darren Till-Marvin Vettori for April 10 card

The UFC is finalizing a middleweight bout between Darren Till and Marvin Vettori to headline a UFC Fight Night event in April, according to multiple sources.

Contracts have not been signed, but verbal agreements are in place, sources said. The 185-pound contest will headline a UFC Fight Night event April 10. The UFC has not yet officially announced the event or location.

Till (18-3-1) is coming off a competitive decision loss to former champion Robert Whittaker in July. The Liverpool, England, native was scheduled for another five-round main event against Jack Hermansson on Dec. 5, but he was forced to withdraw due to a lingering knee injury.

A former welterweight title challenger, Till is 1-1 since moving up to 185 pounds.

Vettori (16-3-1) actually replaced Till in that Dec. 5 fight against Hermansson and won via unanimous decision. Vettori, of Italy, had a breakout year in 2020, in which he defeated Karl Roberson and Hermansson to break into the UFC's Top 10 rankings. His last loss was a split decision to the champion Israel Adesanya, back in April 2018.

Adesanya is scheduled to move up in weight and challenge light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz for a second title on March 6.
