Mackenzie Dern meets Angela Hill in the strawweight main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

The fights at the UFC Apex are on ESPN+, with the 7 p.m. ET main card preceded by prelims at 4 p.m.

Dern (12-3) last fought in October, losing a majority decision to Yan Xiaonan. Prior to that, she had won five of six. Dern is No. 8 in the ESPN strawweight rankings.

Hill (15-12) went through a difficult two-year stretch of five losses in six fights, but since then has won twice in a row. Her most recent win was a unanimous decision over Emily Ducote in December.

Dern and Hill were originally scheduled to fight last week until Saturday's original headliner, Irene Aldana vs. Raquel Pennington, was canceled. As a replacement, Dern vs. Hill was given the main event slot.

Reed Kuhn's betting tip

Mackenzie Dern is one of the most dangerous grapplers at strawweight, but only when she actually gets the fight to the mat. Slowly but surely, she's been learning to set up her takedowns with striking and clinch work, rather than simply shooting from a distance and getting stuffed. While Angela Hill boasts 77% takedown defense, but she's primarily a muay thai-style striker, meaning she more upright in her stance. That plays to the advantage of Dern, who might willingly clinch with Hill just to close distance, then use that position for higher-success takedowns.
