Renato Moicano, Benoit Saint Denis to headline UFC Paris

The UFC announced that a lightweight tilt between Renato Moicano and Benoît Saint Denis will headline the promotion's return to Paris.

The fight will headline the UFC Fight Night card at the Accor Arena on Sept. 28, with the co-main event being a middleweight battle between Nassourdine Imavov and Brendan Allen.

Moicano (19-5-1) enters the fight as the UFC's No. 10 ranked lightweight and is currently riding a three-fight winning streak with victories over Brad Riddell, Drew Dober and Jalin Turner.

Saint-Denis (13-2, 1 no contest) hopes to bounce back after being stopped in the second round by Dustin Poirier in March. The loss ended a five-fight undefeated stretch of which all of his wins came by knockout or submission. The UFC's No. 12 ranked lightweight resides in France and will have the home crowd on his side.

A win for either fighter would likely see them crack the top 10 in a crowded lightweight division that Islam Makhachev currently reigns over.

Imavov (14-4, 1 no contest) is ranked as the No. 4 middleweight by the UFC and is coming off of a fourth-round stoppage against Jared Cannonier in June. He'll look to turn back the surging Allen (24-5), who has collected seven consecutive wins and currently sits as the UFC's No. 7 ranked middleweight. The winner will be on the short list for middleweight title contention.

Champion Dricus du Plessis will defend his title against former titleholder Israel Adesanya in the main event of UFC 305 on Aug. 17.
