Baltimore Ravens running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram were not activated for Wednesday's game at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dobbins and Ingram were eligible to play after completing their 10-day quarantine for testing positive. They had not practiced since a 30-24 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans 10 days ago and will remain on the Ravens' reserve/COVID-19 list.
Gus Edwards will start against the Steelers. Justice Hill, a seldom-used 2019 fourth-round pick, and Ty'Son Williams, one of 10 players promoted from the practice squad, will back up Edwards.
Dobbins had just positioned himself to take over as Baltimore's lead back before testing positive. Ingram, a Pro Bowl back last year, has been slowly phased out of the offense.
Edwards will look to repeat his success against a run defense that ranked No. 7 entering Week 12. Edwards has totaled 217 yards rushing and one touchdown in his past two games against Pittsburgh.
Baltimore will play without six starters on offense because of its recent outbreak. Robert Griffin III will start at quarterback in place of reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, who tested positive on Thanksgiving.
The Ravens had no positive tests on Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter just hours before kickoff with the Steelers. This ended 10 straight days of at least one Ravens player testing positive. At least 14 Baltimore players have tested positive during that time, including seven Pro Bowl players.
This outbreak has led to 23 Ravens players getting placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list since Nov. 23. Rookie safety Geno Stone was added to the list Wednesday.
The coronavirus has affected the entire Ravens organization. Over 35 members have either tested positive or been identified as a high-risk close contact over the past 10 days.
