NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan was carted off the field on a stretcher in the second quarter of Monday's 34-31 win over the Buffalo Bills, while rookie cornerback Caleb Farley will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee.
Lewan laid on the ground as trainers came out to the field along with head coach Mike Vrabel. Lewan's head appeared to collide with a Bills defender as he went down in a pile following a Derrick Henry run in the red zone. The trainers quickly determined that a cart was needed after examining Lewan.
Lewan gave a thumbs-up as he was taken off the field. He was being evaluated for a concussion and had movement in all of his extremities. Vrabel did not give an update on Lewan after the game.
The Titans entered the game with 16 players on injured reserve after placing right cornerback Kristian Fulton (hamstring) on the list just hours before Monday's kickoff.
Farley, making his first start in place of Fulton, had to be helped off the field in the second quarter after a collision with teammate Kevin Byard as the two attempted to tackle Bills receiver Emmanuel Sanders.
An MRI confirmed Farley suffered an isolated ACL tear in his left left knee with minimal lateral meniscus damage, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday. The rookie was placed on injured reserve but is expected to be ready for the start of the 2022 season after having surgery.
Farley, the Titans' top draft pick in 2021, was replaced by second-year defensive back Chris Jackson, but Jackson was in and out of the lineup Monday night due to a foot injury. Veteran reserve Breon Borders was the Titans' third option at right cornerback.
Cameron Batson hurt a knee on a kickoff return just before halftime, and receiver Julio Jones, who made an amazing 43-yard catch of a ball that bounced off Micah Hyde's helmet, also was ruled out late in the game with a hamstring injury. He had missed the previous two games.
NFL reporter Paul Kuharsky was the first to report that Farley suffered a torn ACL
