GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Ladislav Nagy will suit up for
the Phoenix Coyotes next season.
The left wing was awarded a one-year, $3 million contract in
arbitration on Monday, and the Coyotes accepted the deal.
"This means that Ladi will be in camp on time and ready to go,"
Coyotes general manager Michael Barnett said. "He's a huge
piece of our club. At some point we'd like to lock him up on a
multiyear deal, but for now this one-year award will work for
both sides."
Nagy, 27, had 15 goals and 41 assists this past season despite
missing the final 29 games with a knee injury. He had been
fifth in the league in assists on Jan. 29, when he played his
final game.
Nagy, who was named to Team Slovakia for the 2006 Olympics but
had to sit out with his injury, had his arbitration hearing on
Friday.
Had the Coyotes not accepted the ruling, he would have become an
unrestricted free agent.
