Linnae Harper transferring from Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Kentucky coach Matthew Mitchell said junior guard Linnae Harper has decided to transfer, which makes her the second Wildcats player to leave the program in the past two weeks.

Harper averaged 11.4 points and a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game in 34 contests (17 starts) last season. The Chicago native played in 69 career games and was expected to be a key player for the Wildcats this season.

"We appreciate everything Linnae gave our program for two years here, and we wish her nothing but the best on and off the court going forward," Mitchell said in a statement.

Harper's transfer follows the Oct. 15 dismissal of guard Chrishae Rowe, an Oregon transfer who would have been eligible after the fall semester, for failing to uphold program standards.
