AFL announces mouth-watering fixture from Rounds 2-5

The AFL has announced fixtures for Rounds 2 to 5 of the 2020 season, which resumes on Thursday, June 11 with a Collingwood vs. Richmond blockbuster at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

After the Magpies and Tigers have restarted the season, attention will turn to another great rivalry, Geelong vs. Hawthorn. The Cats and Hawks will square off the following night at GMHBA Stadium, before a Showdown at Adelaide Oval between Adelaide and Port Adelaide is played.

"To re-launch the season we have focused on scheduling blockbuster match-ups across these four weeks, particularly in the Thursday and Friday night primetime slots," AFL general manager of clubs and broadcasting Travis Auld said.

"As we navigate through the remaining 108 games, plus finals, we will continue to be adaptable with our scheduling, ensuring our fixtures align with the relevant state government restrictions in place at the time."

Western Australia-based sides West Coast and Fremantle will play their first four games in Queensland, while the two South Australian-based teams will relocate after their Round 2 clash in Adelaide.

The AFL has also introduced a new game timeslot, 6:05pm on Sunday evening.

The remaining fixtures will be released later in the season in a bid to offer the AFL and clubs flexibility.
