Greater Western Sydney stand-in skipper Toby Greene will miss at least a month of AFL action because of a fractured shoulder.
Greene suffered the setback during the third quarter of the Giants' loss to Richmond at Marvel Stadium but continued to play the rest of the game.
Much-improved utility Harry Perryman will also spend four weeks on the sidelines because of a hamstring injury he suffered in the costly defeat.
Greene's absence is the latest blow amid an injury crisis that threatens to derail the Giants' finals hopes.
GWS's depth was already being tested because of injuries to captain Stephen Coniglio and key players Phil Davis, Nick Haynes, Matt de Boer, Lachie Keeffe, Braydon Preuss and Brent Daniels.
Josh Kelly, Lachie Whitfield and Jacob Hopper are the only fit members of the club's leadership group remaining, with one of them set to serve as captain in Sunday's clash with West Coast at Giants Stadium.
The club has confirmed Greene will be an enforced omission for that match because of a fracture to the greater tuberosity humerus.
"Toby's as tough as they come," GWS chief medico Cullan Ball said. "We had it scanned on Sunday, which revealed the injury and we expect him to be sidelined for at least a month.
"Knowing Toby, he'll do everything right in his recovery and rehabilitation and he'll be back out on field as soon as possible."
Haynes and Sam Reid are in the mix to return from hamstring injuries against the Eagles.
