JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected 183 players in their 22-year history. Here’s a look at the best draft picks by position for the Jaguars:

OFFENSE

Quarterback: David Garrard, fourth round, 2002, East Carolina. Garrard is second in franchise history in passing yards (16,003) and passing touchdowns (89) and holds the franchise record in passer rating (85.8) and consecutive passes without an interception (209). Garrard led the Jaguars to the playoffs in 2007 -- their last appearance -- and his fourth-down scramble against Pittsburgh helped the Jaguars beat the Steelers 31-29 in the wild-card game.

Running back: Fred Taylor, first round, 1998, Florida. Taylor is the Jaguars’ all-time leading rusher (11,271 yards) and posted a remarkable nine consecutive 100-yard games during the 2000 season. Taylor rushed for 62 touchdowns in his career and posted 47 100-yard games in his 11-year career with the Jaguars. His 90-yard touchdown run against Miami in a divisional playoff game after the 1999 season is one of the greatest plays in franchise history.

Wide receiver: Allen Robinson, second round, 2014, Penn State. The Jaguars’ two best receivers – Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell – were not drafted by them, and Robinson is easily the best of the 27 receivers the franchise has drafted. Robinson already ranks fifth in receiving yards (2,831) and fourth in touchdown catches (22) in team history after just three seasons. His 14 touchdown catches in 2015 set a franchise record.

Tight end: Marcedes Lewis, first round, 2006, UCLA. Lewis is entering his 12th season with the Jaguars and holds the franchise record for receptions (451), receiving yards (4,184) and touchdown catches (28) for tight ends. He also ranks third all-time in franchise history among all players in those three categories.

Tackle: Tony Boselli, first round, 1995, USC. Boselli was the first -- and still the best -- draft pick in Jaguars history. He was a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in January. Boselli made the Pro Bowl five times and was a three-time first-team All-Pro. He also was a member of the NFL's All-Decade team of the 1990s.

Guard: Vince Manuwai, third round, 2003, Hawaii. He started 105 games in eight seasons with the Jaguars. He was a key part of an offensive line that helped the Jaguars rush for 2,542 yards in 2006 and 2,391 yards in 2007, which was the last year the Jaguars made the playoffs.

Center: Brad Meester, second round, 2000, Northern Iowa. Meester played 14 seasons with the Jaguars and holds the franchise record for most games played (209), most games started (209) and also has the two longest streaks of games started (92 and 89). Meester played fewer than 16 games just three times in his career.

DEFENSE

End: Tony Brackens, second round, 1996, Texas. Brackens is regarded as one of the best defensive players in team history. He holds the franchise record for sacks (55) and is the only player in Jaguars history to record double-digit sacks in multiple seasons. His best season came in 2000, when he had 12 sacks and forced eight fumbles. He forced 27 fumbles in eight seasons with the Jaguars.

Tackle: Marcus Stroud, first round, 2001, Georgia. Though John Henderson played one more year and posted more tackles and seven more sacks, multiple people around the franchise during the time the two played said Stroud was the better player. He had 22 sacks and recorded 274 tackles while playing alongside Henderson. Stroud made the Pro Bowl twice and missed only 11 games in seven seasons.

Linebacker: Kevin Hardy, first round, 1996, Illinois. Hardy is fifth all-time in Jaguars history with 28.5 sacks and 789 tackles in six seasons. His best season was 1999, when he recorded 10.5 sacks and was named All-Pro and to the Pro Bowl to help the Jaguars go 14-2 in the regular season and reach the AFC Championship Game.

Cornerback: Rashean Mathis, second round, 2003, Bethune-Cookman. Mathis, who grew up in Jacksonville, holds franchise records for interceptions (30), total takeaways (35) and interceptions returned for touchdowns (three). He picked off eight passes in 2006 and made the Pro Bowl and was named All-Pro. He played 10 years in Jacksonville before spending the final three years of his career in Detroit.

Safety: Donovin Darius, first round, 1998, Syracuse. Darius was a big-time hitter who intercepted 14 passes (third in franchise history), is second in team history with 20 total takeaways, and is third in franchise history with 858 tackles in nine seasons with the Jaguars. He and Taylor were both taken in the first round in 1998.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Kicker: Josh Scobee, fifth round, 2004, Louisiana Tech. He recently signed a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Jaguars. Scobee is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer (1,022 points) and made 26 field goals of 50 or more yards in 11 seasons with the Jaguars, including a team-record 59-yarder to beat Indianapolis in 2010.

Punter: Bryan Anger, third round, 2012, California. Anger played only four seasons in Jacksonville but holds the team record for highest gross average (46.8 yards) and net average (40.5 yards). He had seven of the 16 punts of 65 yards or longer in Jaguars history.
