GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Letroy Guion is finally back in possession of his truck and the cash seized by police during his arrest in February for possession of marijuana and a firearm.

Nearly eight months after the Green Bay Packers defensive tackle reached a plea deal and paid a $5,000 fine, Starke, Florida, police finally returned his 2015 Dodge Ram truck and $190,028.81 in cash that were taken during his arrest.

“It kind of rejuvenates me,” Guion said an interview with ESPN.com on Tuesday. “It gives me my sense of character back and gives me my juice back. I’m all excited and ready to go. Things are getting back to normal. All the smoke is starting to clear.”

Guion’s Florida-based attorney, Robert Rush, said he picked up his client’s property from police last Friday. Rush said law enforcement officials agreed to voluntarily dismiss the civil forfeiture case. Rush had filed a motion in July to have Guion’s property returned.

“They were very gracious about it,” Rush said. “They returned his truck in perfect condition and every dollar in cash, which was kind of comical.”

With the Packers off last weekend after Thursday’s win over the Detroit Lions, Guion returned to Florida to get back his possessions.

“The money was from my paychecks,” Guion said. “Hard work, earned money that they decided to take from me. I proved it with bank statements. Every check I cashed, I had proof of it. In the end, they would’ve been violating my Eighth Amendment rights had they not [given it back].”

Guion was in talks with the Packers about a long-term deal before he was arrested. He instead returned to Green Bay on a one-year deal but said last week that he hopes he can stay with the Packers long term.

“I would love to get back to that position to get the playing time and publicity that I was getting so that I could go back to talking about a long-term deal with Green Bay,” Guion said. “I just need to keep grinding."
