TEMPE, Ariz. -- The early returns from Steve Wilks' new players are in.
Thus far they like the hire made by the Arizona Cardinals to fill the void left by former coach Bruce Arians, who retired on Jan. 1.
"I've heard amazing things about him," center A.Q. Shipley told ESPN. "Everybody I know that has played for (the) Panthers with him has said amazing things about the way he commands respect from everyone. Looking forward to playing for him and getting to work."
Tackle Jared Veldheer, reiterated Shipley's stance on playing for Wilks, the former Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator.
"Seems like a great pick," Veldheer told ESPN. "Excited to work with him."
Wilks be introduced at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, becoming the franchise's 38th head coach.
Other players expressed their feelings toward Wilks’ hiring on Twitter.
