Jermain Taylor set to be sentenced in April

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Former middleweight champion Jermain Taylor has changed his plea to guilty in charges stemming from three separate incidents.

Taylor appeared in Pulaski County Circuit Court on Tuesday. Prosecutors confirmed they had reduced charges to second-degree battery in an incident in which Taylor is accused of shooting and wounding his cousin last year.

Prosecutors removed a child enhancement for seven charges stemming from an incident in which Taylor was accused of firing a gun during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade. The boxer pleaded guilty to those charges and a battery charge in a third incident.

The judge will allow Taylor to continue training in Florida under supervision. Sentencing is set for April.
