COVID-19 concerns lead to cancellation of game between Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe

The game between Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe that was scheduled for Saturday at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana, has been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns at ULM.

"We're extremely disappointed," ULM athletics director Scott McDonald said. "Two rounds of COVID-19 tests following the team's road trip to Georgia State required the isolation and quarantine of some student-athletes, coaches and administrators."

McDonald said following CDC and Sun Belt Conference protocols for positive tests and subsequent contact tracing made it clear there wasn't enough time to safely prepare for the game.

ULM head coach Matt Viator said his team will resume normal football activities this weekend and prepare for its home finale on Nov. 28 against Louisiana-Lafayette.
