Florida Gators signee Noah Dickerson has received a release from his letter of intent, he told ESPN.com.
Dickerson asked for his release from the school earlier this week, following the program's coaching change. Billy Donovan left last month for the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder, with the Gators hiring Louisiana Tech head coach Mike White as Donovan's replacement last week.
Dickerson, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Montverde Academy (Fla.), will be a sought-after commodity in the 2015 class.
Ranked No. 51 in the ESPN 100, Dickerson is the third-highest-ranked prospect still on the board, following Caleb Swanigan (No. 9) and Tevin Mack (No. 48). Expect a long list of power-conference schools to get involved with Dickerson.
This is Dickerson's second decommitment in the last year, as he reopened his recruitment last June after originally pledging to Georgetown. He then committed to Florida in August.
Florida had four ESPN 100 signees in its 2015 class, but that number is likely to be cut in half soon. Along with Dickerson, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reported that KeVaughn Allen (No. 54) is expected to ask for his release. Keith Stone and Kevarrius Hayes are expected to remain in the fold for the Gators.
