Playoffs signify new beginning

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Most high school students take their entrance exams as a junior and begin focusing on a college search the summer before their senior year.

But top football prospects like 2014 quarterback Tyler Wiegers (Beverly Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) aren't afforded that luxury.

As early as his sophomore year, and especially this year, Wiegers had to try and find time between football, classes and a social life to take visits to college campuses and make phone calls to coaches in order to keep up with the increasing pace of college football recruitment.
