Renault reserve driver Esteban Ocon thinks it will be "a great challenge" to combine his F1 duties with DTM this season.

Ocon has replaced reigning DTM champion Pascal Wehrlein at Mercedes-Benz after the German secured a full-time drive at Manor for the coming season. The Frenchman has also been signed on as reserve driver for Renault's first season back as a factory outfit and the team has said he is likely to appear in some Friday sessions.

"This is a full year and a great challenge, I'll have a lot to learn," the reigning GP3 champion is quoted as saying by Speedweek. "It is not easy to combine DTM with F1. That's going to be hard. But I'm here to tackle exactly that.

"As a young driver, it is always the goal to get into F1, and that's certainly my goal for the future. But at the moment I am very happy to be in the DTM. It is a fantastic opportunity for me and I want to drive a lot in the series."

Renault has confirmed Jolyon Palmer and Kevin Magnussen for the 2016 campaign. The latter was brought into the team as a late replacement for Pastor Maldonado after the Venezuelan driver lost his sponsorship.
