Haas has completed the first lap with its debuting F1 car ahead of its official unveiling in Barcelona on Sunday.
The American outfit took to the track for a single lap during a promotional filming event at the Circuit de Catalunya on Saturday. It has yet to reveal its official livery but team personnel and driver Esteban Gutierrez have been spotted in the paddock wearing grey and red team kit.
The installation lap was confirmed by team owner Gene Haas.
"We are good," he told Motorsport.com from Daytona. "The car went out and did a shakedown lap, and it is okay. It has been a long time [preparing] -- it has been so long. But we are ready and now we need to get it done."
Article 10 of the regulations states a team can conduct two 100km promotional events over the course of a season, but does not specify a time frame for each event.
Article 10.2 says: "A PE [promotional event] shall be defined as an event in which a competitor participated purely for marketing or promotional purposes. No such test may exceed 100km in length and only tyres manufactured specifically for this purpose by the appointed supplier may be used."
The regulations go on to clarify the FIA must receive information in advance relating to "the date(s) and intended duration of the test", suggesting Haas can complete the remaining mileage at another time if it has confirmed it with the governing body. Haas' technical partner Ferrari is planning to conduct a similar filming day at the circuit on Sunday.
Haas will launch its new car online at 1500 local time (1400 GMT, 0900 EST). Romain Grosjean will be the first to sample the car when testing begins at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya on Monday morning.
