ESPN rounds up the best radio soundbites from the season-opening Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.
"So is it box this lap or not? [Delay] Oh... I'm coming in anyway."
What better way to kick off a new season of Radio Ga Ga than with some classic Kimi Raikkonen? Here the Finn takes matters into his own hands after growing tired of waiting for a response from the Ferrari pit wall during practice.
"Fernando, we are through to Q2."
"Now we just need some rain..."
Ever the optimist, Fernando Alonso looks to the dark skies for inspiration after making it through Q1. The rain would not materialise but the Spaniard would still claim an impressive 13th in the uncompetitive McLaren-Honda...
"Don't ever send me out behind Daniel again. It's too slow!"
After failing to sufficiently warm his tyres for a flying lap in qualifying, Max Verstappen complains to Red Bull about its qualifying strategy after releasing him right behind teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
"Yeah, that was s---..."
Raikkonen gives a memorable assessment of his own qualifying lap after finishing nearly one whole second behind polesitter Lewis Hamilton -- though it was still good enough for fourth.
"This is race-critical, you need to get past Verstappen."
"I don't know how you expect me to do that..."
Barely half way into the grand prix and Lewis Hamilton was already doubting how easy it is to pass with 2017's new cars after encountering a road block in the form of Max Verstappen.
"Let's get the f--- out of here..."
After a weekend from hell -- crashing in qualifying and then starting late after suffering a car failure on the way to the grid -- Daniel Ricciardo is in no mood to lap up the adoration of his home fans after retiring from the race at mid-distance.
"F------ hell. This dirty air is incredible."
Nico Hulkenberg proves the difficulties in overtaking were not limited to Hamilton, swearing in disbelief at how difficult it is to follow another car.
"How much off?"
"One-tenth. Danny, bring it to the flag, we have points on the table... just bring it to the flag".
As Daniil Kvyat's thoughts turn towards a late attempt at the fastest lap of the race, Toro Rosso bring the Russian back down to earth by saying points are more important.
"How much faster is the fastest lap?"
"Too fast...."
Max Verstappen is let down equally gently by Red Bull after asking whether a quick late lap of his own would be possible.
"Grande Sebastian, bravissimo."
"Woohoo! Forza Ferrari!"
Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel enjoy the moment as he records his and the team's first win since Singapore in 2015.
