Valtteri Bottas says he has "positive vibes" heading into this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix and is confident his results at Mercedes will improve soon enough.
After a fine performance in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, in which the Finn kept teammate Lewis Hamilton honest on his way to claiming his 10th career podium with third place on his race debut with the Silver Arrows, Bottas had to settle for sixth place in Shanghai, following a costly mistake.
Bottas spun off behind the Safety Car while attempting to warm his tyres during the early stages of Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix, dropping him from fifth place to 12th and out of contention for a podium finish. Bottas recovered through the field well to claim sixth in China but apologised to his team for the "silly mistake".
On Monday the Mercedes driver took to social media to say he had already put the disappointment of China behind him and was now looking forward to the next race in Bahrain.
Well arrived in Bahrain ☀️ Positive vibes as the next GP is coming soon. Last GP was bad but that's done and I always look forward #VB77 #F1 pic.twitter.com/WLnBg8KgRJ
