Singapore have won the FAS Tri-Nations Series 2022 after sealing a perfect campaign over the past week with a 2-0 win over Philippines at the National Stadium on Tuesday.

Safuwan Baharudin opened the scoring for the Lions after ten minutes, when he was left completely unmarked inside the area to meet a Shahdah Sulaiman corner with a bullet header into the back of the net.

Trailing on the scoreboard, Philippines were soon facing a numerical deficit by the 39th minute when Diego Bardanca was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in a matter of minutes.

The Azkals were not completely out of the tie however, with Singapore goalkeeper Hassan Sunny having had to make a couple of crucial interventions -- including a stunning save to deny Bienvenido Maranon.

And just when it looked as though the Lions had done enough to hold out for the victory, Shawal Anuar would make sure of the result as he latched onto a glorious searching pass from Hariss Harun and expertly took the ball down on his chest before coolly finishing past Neil Etheridge.

Coupled with Saturday's 2-1 win over Malaysia, Singapore finished top of the standings for the triangular tournament with a perfect six-point haul, while Philippines ended the campaign bottom having also lost to the Malaysians last week.
