Bayern Munich's David Alaba not thinking about Real Madrid link

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has said he is not giving any thought to rumours linking him with Real Madrid after Marca claimed his father held meetings with the Spanish club's representatives.

Alaba, 22, has been a key player for Bayern in recent seasons, playing 100 Bundesliga games for the club since returning from a six-month loan spell at Hoffenheim in 2011.

The Austria left-back, who has also been used in central midfielder and in both wing-back positions under Pep Guardiola this season, has now reportedly attracted the interest of Madrid, with Spanish newspaper Marca claiming his father and agent George met with Real Madrid representatives in Vienna a few days ago to discuss a potential transfer.

Asked about the rumours by Austrian outlet laola, Alaba remained coy but said he was happy at the Allianz Arena and focused on winning silverware during the run-in.

"I'm not concerned about that," he said. "I feel great at FC Bayern, and there are several important challenges waiting for us in the next weeks."

Alaba, who was won 35 caps for Austria, has three years remaining on his current contract after signing an extension in December 2013.
