West Brom are weighing up a move for Brazilian forward Nene following his release by West Ham, sources have told ESPN FC.

Nene was a target for Tony Pulis in February when he left Qatar with Al Gharrafa only for West Ham to beat him to the signature of the versatile attacker on a free transfer.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star struggled to break into Sam Allardyce's first-team plans upon his arrival with his eight appearances for the club in the Premier League all coming as a substitute.

Nene showed glimpses of his talent in those eight cameo appearances and West Brom remain keen on offering the South American another crack at the Premier League.

Pulis is keen to bolster his attacking options this summer with doubts surrounding the long-term futures of a number of forwards at the Hawthorns.

Saido Berahino has been linked with a big-money move away from West Brom this summer, while the likes of Brown Ideye, Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Anichebe could all be allowed to move on.

Nene recently admitted on his own website that he feels he still has a lot to offer and is weighing up offers

"I never had physical problems and injuries were rare throughout my career. So I know I can keep playing at a high level for at most three or four season," said Nene.

"From now I will examine the proposals that arise, both in Europe and in Brazilian football."
